Taxidermy case of immature male Balearic Shearwater and immature Manx Shearwater. According to Edward Hart, writing on 1 May 1927, '(No 1): immature male. Shot by Colonel Townsend (of Gundemoor, Mudeford) near the Shingles in Christchurch Bay, August 1859, and afterwards identified by H. E. Dresser as the Levantine Shearwater from the Mediterranean and Black Sea. (No 2): 'Manx' Shearwater of the same age, put in for comparison, September 15th 1873. Mounted by me'.
