Decorative blue and white shirt with collar. This 'adire' cloth, from Ibadan, Nigeria, is dyed with indigo.
Having read up on the use of indigo and resist dyeing used in this shirt, Claire was inspired to do an ambitious textile project of her own. She taught herself different resist and tye-dyeing techniques and made a whole rack of blue dyed T-shirts.
The Community Fieldworkers project was also a great opportunity to link up with a great team of Occupational Therapists from South West London & St Georges NHS.
Sarah, the Lead Occupational Therapist (Forensic Services) attended the training day and then museum staff went out to deliver further training to other OTs in her team.
The postcards were delivered to the Shaftesbury Clinic and were used as inspiration during Creative Arts Groups.
