Community Symposium at the Horniman

Last year in January we held a Community Symposium to let local groups find out about the support and resources we have available, and to let them help us imrpove what we offer.

On Wednesday 21 May, the Horniman Community Learning team are inviting people who work for family service providers and support organisations to ur next symposium, to discover the resources and partnership opportunities available to them.

The event will run from 10am until 3pm, and includes:

  • time to find out about the resources and partnership opportunities available for family organisations and services
  • a chance to try out some of the family learning activities we run in the Gardens and the Hands on Base
  • a visit behind the scenes with curators to handle museum objects that relate to the experiences of families around the world

Lunch will be provided.

We will also be asking you for advice to help us make the family programme at the museum more accessible and better fit local needs and priorities.
